Black and Navy Ruffles OOTD

Navy and black in an outfit has always seemed so effortless to me… It’s easier than trying to match blacks (we’ve all had that moment after taking a few steps outside when we realize our pants are a deep shade of ink and our shirt is a dingy shade of charcoal!), and they compliment each other so well.
I am loving these new heels, and so glad that there is now a Nordstrom Rack open about 3 miles from my house so I can find even more great steals on well-made and cute shoes! Their clothing selection I was kind of “meh” about on opening day, but I’m down for $40 designer shoes any day!

For this look, I wanted something bright and cheery, but when I started piling on stacks of colorful bracelets and neon flats, it kiIiinda looked like I was off to a rave. I’m going to be 30 this year, so I decided it dial it back just a bit, haha! Enter my frequent savior and outfit finishers, neutral accessories! I’ve been obsessed with this bucket bag since I got it last year, and I love how season-less it is, plus it holds everything.

Pink Gingham and Sparkles OOTD

Do you ever get the feeling like you want to throw on something SUPER girly and act just a little bit princess-y for the day? Maybe it’s just me, but I love getting dressed up in clothes in soft palettes with delicate details and making the day feel a little bit special (even if I was just going to work!)
I’ve had these Miu Miu heels for about 13 years now, and I will say time and time again.. If you’re going to invest in something quality for your wardrobe, make it shoes! Even bags to me shouldn’t be the end-all-be-all big ticket items in your wardrobe. We’re on our feet so much and deserve the support, quality, craftsmanship, comfort, and (hello!) cuteness that generally comes inherent with a well-made pair of shoes. Because we’re worth it 🙂

BCBG Chantico Maxi Dress

I had such high hopes for this BCBG dress to be the one I would wear to the Simply Stylist event I attended last Saturday, but after wearing it around for about 10 minutes, I realized that it was just too tight. I do need to be able to breathe, after all 😉
I imagined the silver strands weaved throughout the fabric glistening in the sun, and the train in the back flowing behind me as I walked through the crowd. Such lofty ambitions for a dress, haha! Anyway, I still went ahead and took a couple of pictures in it, because it really is just so pretty, and then I shipped it on back to Rent the Runway so it can go find a new home. I paired it with a little bracelet bag that totally picked up all of the shades in the dress, and my new Sam Edelman pumps I recently picked up for a steal at Nordstrom Rack.
