Hi there!
I hope everyone is doing well today. I had a lovely relaxed weekend and then came back to a very busy workplace so I’m definitely glad that I had that time to decompress. Mark and I attended the Spring Downtown Redlands Art Walk on Sunday, and wow, I must say.. It gets bigger and more exciting every time we go. They had bike ramps set up, artists using spray paint to create massive works of art live as onlookers awed, and lots of great local spots that had set up pop-up restaurants for dining on the go.
This was our third time attending, and while I was sooooo close to buying a piece of framed art (a gorgeous botanical sketch), I left only with a hand painted card with the most intricate yet simple pattern of grey & white dots scattered about it. I’ve wanted to walk away with a great sketch or oil painting for some time now, but just can’t seem to make the jump to actually purchasing a substantial piece. I really am regretting not picking up that sketch though, because I got home and found the perfect spot for it! Oh well, perhaps next time.
It really brings me a huge amount of hometown pride to attend events like this. To live in a town that supports and nourishes all of it’s creative minds is incredible. Yes, we have great food and plenty of places to shop, parks and historical locations to explore.. But what sets us apart from other small towns is how much we really allow artistic minds to shine.
I’d love to hear from you, what is your town best known for?

Every time I hear the term “spring florals” or basically just those two words in the same sentence, it brings to mind a quote from one of my favorite love-to-hate-it movies, The Devil Wears Prada. The line of course being “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Delivered with such dry wit from the inimitable fashion magnate, Miranda Priestly. It really does make you think though, like pulling out a floral-print blouse or pleated skirt for Spring brunch date doesn’t seem original at all. And yet.. it works. Every time. As you may know, I’m perfectly fine rocking floral prints year round, but there’s just something so sweet about wearing those designs when the flowers are actually in bloom.

Hello, loves!

So both the top and pants are
I did mostly enjoy this dress, except for that extra drapey bit under the bust. No one wants droopiness near their bust area! Maybe if I had more to fill it out haha.. I was initially bothered by the print, especially around the hips and booty, but it actually worked! The cut was flattering and I think it would be nice in warmer weather when I don’t want to show my arms. It went back though, because it was $78. Way too much for a dress of this quality.
This top was pretty cute but a bit snug. It had a little cutout on the back and a grosgrain ribbon at the neck that bugged the hell out of me. It was also almost $50 for what boiled down to a t-shirt. Back it went.
The item that I actually ended up keeping, to save my styling credit from being wasted was this multi-layered necklace. It is something I can see myself wearing a decent amount and wasn’t overpriced at $28. It does get a bit tangled, but I think that’s kind of the nature of all layered necklaces like these.
