July Stitch Fix

August 27, 2016

July Stitch Fix - Printed Tank, Jeans, Wedges for Summer Hello, loves!
I’m so excited to bring to you another awesome Stitch Fix! I was quite impressed with all of the gorgeous things I was sent, and to be honest, kind of wanted to keep it all! I forgot to send in a request to my stylist this month so it was definitely all up to her imagination (and her knowledge of my personal style from past fixes), what items I would receive. I have to admit, I felt a little tinge of disappointment when I realized that I hadn’t given her suggestions about what I wanted this month.. I had thought asking for another colorful crossbody bag, embellished pair of sandals, colored jeans, and a fun, printed tank top. My stylist and I are definitely on the same wavelength, because I received 2 of those items! Here, the rest of my July Stitch Fix.

July Stitch Fix - Printed Tank and Sunglasses Tank ($48, kept) / Stitch Fix // Jeans / MaviUSA (also from Stitchfix a couple rounds back) // Wedges / Seychelles from Scarlet Threads Consignment // Bag / Cambridge Satchel Co. from the Box of Style (use my link to sign up and get $10 off your first box!) // Necklace / Luv AJ from the Box of Style // Sunglasses / Amazon

July Stitch Fix - Summer Date Night Look July Stitch Fix - Summer Date Night Look with Jeans Cowl-neck top ($58, returned) / StitchFix // Cropped jeans / Old Navy // Wedges / Just Fab // Necklace / BaubleBar // Bag / Who What Wear for Target // Sunnies / Amazon

DFT University Garden - 18Sandals ($60, returned) / Stitch Fix
These were very cute but a little pricey at $60.00. I just knew that as pretty as they are, they would get dirty and worn-looking after a couple of wears when exposed to the elements.

July Stitch Fix - Crochet Vest with Tank and Jeans July Stitch Fix - Crochet Vest with Tank and JeansCrochet vest ($48, returned) / Stitch Fix
This piece did not speak to me at all. It felt very flimsy and Coachella-y in a bad way.

July Stitch Fix - White Blouse and Raw Hem Jeans July Stitch Fix - White Blouse and Raw Hem Jeans Top / BohoCheri // Jeans ($88, kept) / Just Black from Stitch Fix // Espadrilles / Old Navy // Necklace / BaubleBar // Bracelet / House of Harlow 1960 from Rocksbox (use code dressedfortimexoxo for your first month free!) // Rings / Forever 21

So overall, I ended up keeping the printed tank (which I’m a little upset with, as it shrunk after washing the first time according to instructions), and the raw hem skinny jeans. Next time, I’m going to ask for more lacey items, a maxi dress and some more colored pants. Until next time, I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my July Stitch Fix!

June Stitch Fix

July 2, 2016

Hello, loves!
Another month, another shipment to drool over! For my June Stitch Fix, I asked for a large tote, a blush-colored item, a breezy maxi dress, a pair of embellished sandals and something off-the-shoulder. To be completely honest from the get-go about my shipment, the items I received were for the most part, all things that I would love to add to my closet. However, I don’t feel that my stylist honored my request to keep things on the less pricey side. When filling out your style profile, they give you the option to chose a range of price points that you would like each type of item to fall in to. There is “the cheaper the better” which I have checked for everything but outer layers. The next tier up is $50-100, which unfortunately, is where every item I was sent fell in to.  I understand that some items are going to be of higher quality, made with better materials, from a prestigious designer, etc., but considering you get 5 items in each shipment, if I fell in love with everything and wanted to keep it all, that would REALLY add up quickly. I prefer to be offered several items at lower price points, so there’s a higher chance I’ll want to keep more of them. Anyway, moving on to the main event, here is what I received in my June Stitch Fix.

June StitchFix - Maxi DressNecklace / Le Tote // Sunnies / Amazon
This dress was pretty damn gorgeous. The pattern featured the unexpected pairing of navy and orange, could be easily dressed up a bit with some platforms/wedges and a statement necklace or down with strappy flat sandals and a simple lariat. I think the fit was good, not great, but the thing that sealed the deal for me was that although the thin straps appeared adjustable, they would not budge. I even had Mark try to play around with them and nothing. At the length they were basically set at, the straps were just a touch too long and exposed my strapless bra underneath, a look I’m not a fan of. I probably would have kept it otherwise! Dress, $68, not purchased.

June StitchFix - Off the Shoulder DressSunnies / Amazon // Bag / Cambridge Satchel Co. from the Box of Style // Sandals / Steve Madden
Next up was this off-the-shoulder navy dress. I loved the slightly crinkled material (perfect for packing up and taking with me to Puerto Rico because I won’t have to worry about ironing it!), and it could even work for a beach cover-up or paired with heeled sandals and a long gold necklace for a night-out look. The neckline had a pretty snug elastic band, which I appreciate because I won’t have to be fussing with it constantly to keep the sleeves in place. Dress, $68, purchased.

June StitchFix - Lace Blouse & Reversible Tote Necklace / Elysian & Grace // Sunnies / Amazon // Sandals / Kenneth Cole // Jeans / Target
This shot features two of the items I was sent… The blush-toned corded lace blouse and the reversible tote. The top I was SO close to saying yes to but I couldn’t pull the trigger. It’s a gorgeous, well-made piece, but the price and expected cost-per-wear just didn’t add up for me. As for the tote, I’d actually tried out the same style from the same brand from a Nordstrom Anniversary sale last year, and that too went back. I just think they look kind of cheap, with the unfinished edges and construction of the bag. The color of the bag is exactly what I asked for, so that was great, but the rest failed in terms of good quality for the money. Lace top, $68, and reversible tote, $64, not purchased.

June StitchFix - Tote and Sandals Top / BCBGeneration // Jeans / MaviUSA // Sunnies / Amazon
This look also shows two items from my June Stitch fix… The reversible tote (switched to the light blue material), and these gunmetal rhinestone-emblazoned gladiator sandals. I hate to say it, because it sounds harsh, but the sandals looked cheap. Like I could have found the same style at the ghetto-girl store for $25, tops. The little crystals were glued on and I can picture them falling off immediately with a little bit of wear. The kicker is that they weren’t cheap, they were $68 :O Back they went.

So overall, my June Stitch Fix was a little unsatisfying. I would have kept more had the price guidelines that I had set been followed. I ended up keeping just the off-the-shoulder dress because I know I’ll get tons of use out of it this summer.

What items did you request in your last Stitch Fix, or what would you request if you were signed up to receive shipments?
😀

May Stitch Fix

June 12, 2016

Hi loves!
Oye, I’m getting really (and embarrassingly) behind on these! I’ll try my best to catch up, as I’ve already shot the looks for June! Le sigh. Anyway, on to the goodies! For my May Stitch Fix, I requested from my stylist a colorful crossbody bag, a bright pair of cropped bottoms (jeans or capris, etc.), a sheer blouse for work and a comfy pair of flats. I would say that she delivered on half of those requests.
You may have already seen the slouchy crossbody bag (from Octavia & Co.) in my hippie chic maxi dress post here…

May Stitchfix - Octavia Crossbody Bag May Stitchfix Crossbody BagI really love how vibrant this bag is. It looks great when paired with neutral tones, like I did here, but also could stand up to other brights or against a busy print. It has tons of interior space, as well as a flap that folds over and opens up to even more storage. At first, I was worried that it might be one of those bags that anything that you put inside, you can see it from the outside (such as a cell phone, notepad, etc.), but the shape stays pretty much the same unless you overload it. The strap is also long enough to wear as a shoulder bag or crossbody. Basically, I love this bag haha!
Crossbody bag – $48, purchased.

May StitchfixNext up was this satiny sleeveless split neck top. I LOVED the print and fabric and it was slightly shorter in the front than in the back, which would have been pretty flattering had it fit. It was perfect in the bust, but way too snug around the hips. It was returned due to fit issues. Top, $58, not purchased.

May StitchfixWhen I first pulled this blouse out of the box, I was a little iffy on the print. Then I realized how versatile it is! You could build an outfit around it, mixing it with pastels or neons, jeans, so many options! It was, again, too tight around my hips so it had to go back. Blouse, $48, not purchased.

May Stitchfix Dolce Vita SlidesThese Dolce Vita slides really aren’t my style but I thought I would try them on to see if I could make them work.. The answer to that would be no, haha! They made a hideous squeaky noise and literally flopped off my feet when I tried to walk in them. At the shocking price of $70, they went right back.

May StitchfixLastly, I received these suuuuuper vibrant cropped pants from Kut from the Kloth. They were reasonably priced at $58, which I think is fair for well-made pants. I can’t say they’re the most versatile bottoms I’ve ever owned, but they can pair with black, white, other jewel tones and fun prints, which is perfect for summer. Cropped pants, $58, purchased.

Overall, I adored the styles of almost everything I was sent, but the sizing was a bit off. It’s not totally my stylist’s fault, as I’ve put on a few pounds unexpectedly over the past few weeks. I’d like to think it’s because I’ve been working out more often and that I’m gaining muscle, that is the happy thought haha!

I’d love to know about any experiences you’ve had with Stitch Fix!
