DFT- Kimberly Step Winners05I’ll be honest, it’s been a little while since I rented something from Rent the Runway that I loved as much as this maxi dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA. The printed lace detail is just gorgeous, it fits like a dream (although a smidgen too long for the heels that I wore), and it can really be dressed up or down.

When brainstorming a location to shoot this beauty, my photographer, Holli, instantly thought of the Kimberly Crest mansion. We’d both been to swanky events hosted there, and every one has been memorable due to the fantastic scenery. This place holds so much history and drama and is truly at it’s prime around sunset.

Geometric Wrap Dress and JC Wedges

I thought I would finally share an outfit on here before letting it loose on Instagram! This cute little get-up was worn to a dinner with my photographer and then a short stroll around town.

The dress, necklace, and clutch were all found at Scarlet Threads Consignment sale, the event I volunteer and sell at. The total for the three was less than $30! The shoes, however, were purchased along with several other things during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Alyson Haley at Sequins and Things, wearing them and she had mentioned how comfortable they are. I did not find that to be the case, and have since returned them (and am still recovering from all of the blisters!)

CA Gift Show Jewelry Haul

I’m so excited for this post! I’ll keep this short and just get to the goods, my collective jewelry haul from the California Gift Show!

CA Gift Show and LA Mart

I so look forward to attending the semi-annual California Gift Show and LA Mart. It’s where I learn about all of the upcoming trends in jewelry, sample some fantastic gourmet food, and get miles and miles of walking in! Of course, I had my phone out to take pictures along the way 🙂

Kyle Chan is one of my favorite jewelry designers and a trip to the LA Gift Show is not complete without a stop by his booth. He creates the most beautifully simple pieces that really allow the natural beauty of the stones to shine through. I’ll be posting my buys from the show in a future post ?

Next up, we headed to the LA Mart, an open-to-the-trade only building in downtown LA. Almost everything here is for order-writing only, but I still get tons of inspiration for decorating and trends.
