January Stitch Fix

February 15, 2017

January Stitch FixMy goodness, loves, it’s already the middle of February! One day, I will catch up on these, I swear. We just shot the fix for this month, so I should be able to have that up in a week or so. With everything getting away from me during the end of last year, beginning of this year, I didn’t have a moment to reach out to my stylist to request certain things, so it was all kind of up in the air for December and January! Which isn’t always a bad thing, as, spoiler alert, I ended up keeping everything from January’s fix, except for a defective item, more on that later. Read on to check out the rest of my January Stitch Fix!

January Stitch Fix January Stitch FixSweater, scarf & pants / Stitch Fix // Booties / Target
Loved this scarf as soon as I took it out of the box! The colors (baby blue, navy, and merlot), were so unique to me and it is SO soft. I paired it with this elbow-patch sweater and burgundy sateen pants from the fix. The pants were too large, so I ended up exchanging them for a smaller size. The sweater, I thought, was honestly hideous. It clung in all of the wrong places, was baggy in others, and the patches came down almost to my wrists when my arms were at my sides. I wrote Stitch Fix before cashing out to let them know the conundrum and they extended to me a one time courtesy of the 25% discount for keeping only 4 of the items, since I believed one of them to be defective.
Scarf, $28, kept; pants, $68, kept; sweater, $58, returned (defective).

January Stitch Fix January Stitch FixCardigan / Stitch Fix // Tank / Everlane // Leggings / Target // Slip-Ons / ASOS (similar)
I’ve been trying to find a way to rock the athleisure trend without feeling like a slob, and this outfit pretty much got me there. The lace-up ballet-inspired leggings paired with the open cardigan could easily take me from a tea date with a girlfriend to yoga to the grocery store. I’ve also worn it over a tank top to work, so this cardi definitely has versatility.
Cardigan, $48 kept.

January Stitch Fix January Stitch Fix Wrap blouse (worn as a blazer) / Stitch Fix // Top / Nordstrom Rack (similar) // Jeans / Just Black from a previous fix (similar) // Flats / Vince Camuto (similar) // Necklace / My French Farm
I think this “blazer” was my favorite piece from the fix. It can be paired with an LBD, blouse and pants or a tank and jeans. When I tried to button it, it had this weird bunching around the chest but it wasn’t too snug, so I just decided to wear it open.

So all in all, a great fix. I actually wore the floral blazer to work earlier this week and the pants in another look recently, so I’m definitely getting the most out of these items. I hope you enjoyed my January Stitch Fix, until next time! 😀

Happy Valentine’s Day & Romantic Vibes

February 14, 2017

Happy Valentine's Day & Romantic Vibes Hello, loves! Happy Valentine’s Day!
I’m not going to lie and say that Valentine’s Day is my favorite holiday, (which, oddly enough, happens to be the 4th of July), but it’s definitely in the top 5! Everything covered in red and pink, heart and lip shapes, and that special feeling you get surrounded by people you love. Even if you don’t have that “special someone” in your life, you do have many special someone’s, like your mom, your girlfriends, your coworkers.. Every one is fair game for sharing the love!

My look for Valentine’s this year is a little less on-the-nose. I wanted it to give off a romantic vibe, from the ivory lace poet sleeves to the lace-up nude heels, without being a lovely, yet uber safe, little red dress. I loved this top so much that I actually bought it in navy as well, which you’ll be seeing soon on Instagram!

From me and mine to you and yours, Happy Valentine’s Day!

Off Shoulder and Striped Midi

February 8, 2017

Off Shoulder and Striped MidiHi, loves!
Full disclosure, Holli (my lovely and talented photographer) and I shot this off shoulder and striped midi look early last year, but I realized a few days ago that I never posted it! I still own all of these things and it’s totally an outfit I’d wear tomorrow, so here it is!
I’ve posted before on how to get your legs looking their best, but in all honesty, I don’t care for a hemline much above the knees. I legit do not own a pair of shorts. I’ve always felt more comfortable with not showing too much of my bottom half, and perhaps that goes back to my childhood. I was definitely a bigger girl growing up, and was teased quite relentlessly about my weight. I’ve since come to appreciate my body for what it looks like and the things it can do, but those little lumps and bumps on my thighs are still not getting any love from me, haha! I totally give props to the ladies out there who can rock mini skirts and shorts and look so effortlessly cute in summer, but for me, I’m so much more comfortable in a knee-length skater dress or some denim capris. Whatever makes us all feel beautiful, am I right?!

NYE Party Ready with Rent the Runway

December 31, 2016

NYE Party Ready with Rent the Runway - Nicole Miller LBDHello, loves!
Happy New Years Eve!! I’m beyond excited to bring you another look from Rent the Runway, perfect for NYE and beyond. One of my favorite night-out formulas is to take an LBD (preferably one that has lovely details, like an interesting neckline or sleeves), add metallic accessories and a rockin’ pair of heels. Classy, festive, and fun! Let me say that I’m not opposed to a sequin mini dress or floor-length metallic gown for the celebration (I actually love both options), but they’re also a commitment, and hard to justify buying such a statement look that you will likely only want to wear for one night a year! I know it’s probably a vanity thing, but I prefer to wear super special dresses just once, and associate them with that lovely occasion. That’s why I prefer renting dresses for events! Rent the Runway makes it so easy to search by style, length, neckline, formality.. Basically, you can narrow down their thousands of choices to a handful that are perfect for whatever you want to dress up for. I’ve used their services for media events, parties, weddings, and most recently, my own birthday brunch! Consider them for your next special occasion in 2017 to make the event even more memorable.
Whichever way you go, sparkly H to T, or understated luxe, I hope you all have a fun, safe, and fantastic New Years Eve!! Looking forward to sharing with you all next year 😀
