Roses and Colorblocking

Another lovely, yet hottt weekend in southern California. All told, I feel like this summer still has not been as hot as recent summers past. I better get my butt in a pool before it ends though! Definitely on the list, and I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet. I had a chance in Palm Springs but those Bloody Mary’s poolside just sounded like a better idea at the time.
I’ve started shooting with a new photographer, and I quite enjoy our work! It’s great to meet young female entrepreneurs in my area. I love that we can support each other and help one another grow our businesses. Plus, she’s funny, so that’s always a big plus 😀
I’m going to start pretty soon working 6 days a week until the end of the year, so it is going to be a struggle to keep up with posting, but I so enjoy shooting for and writing them, so I’m happy to find a balance!

Geometric Wrap Dress and JC Wedges

I thought I would finally share an outfit on here before letting it loose on Instagram! This cute little get-up was worn to a dinner with my photographer and then a short stroll around town.

The dress, necklace, and clutch were all found at Scarlet Threads Consignment sale, the event I volunteer and sell at. The total for the three was less than $30! The shoes, however, were purchased along with several other things during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I saw one of my favorite bloggers, Alyson Haley at Sequins and Things, wearing them and she had mentioned how comfortable they are. I did not find that to be the case, and have since returned them (and am still recovering from all of the blisters!)

I’ll be honest, I’ve never really gotten in to the Nordies Anniversary sale, at least not to the level that some shopaholic ladies I know do… This year, however, there were too many good deals to pass up! I had been debating on getting the camel-colored bag since seeing it on Sequins & Thing’s and the many ways that Alyson Haley styled it.
