Pleated Floral Skirt and Dark Lips OOTD

I love when I’m able to work typically spring/summer items in to an outfit in the colder months. It makes me feel like my wardrobe has doubled in possibilities!
This midi skirt was a recent find from one of my favorite online retailers, ASOS (and is currently on sale for $15!!). I felt like this look needed a bold, dark lip to balance out the airy, floral pattern of the skirt. For a little play on textures, I added these black booties with a vinyl front panel.

There’s little I enjoy more than brunch with friends (and a pedicure!) on my day off. When I get dressed for the occasion, I always try to pull together pieces that are comfortable, cute, and easy to move around in. No one wants to struggle yanking up the hems of skinny jeans to enjoy a calf massage! I thought this outfit needed a pop of color, so I threw the essentials in this colorblock clutch I picked up from Nectar Clothing. It breaks up the otherwise all black-and-white effect.

Comedy Show Date Night

For our third date, Mark and I went to a comedy show at the Ontario Improv. I don’t remember who we watched perform, or what we had to eat or drink, but I do remember one of the comedians picking on Mark for his occupation in front of a packed house and me laughing a LOT. We decided last weekend to go again, this time with a coworker of mine and her boyfriend, and it was just as much fun as I remembered. I wanted to wear something bright and also comfortable, because sitting for 3 hours can be really unpleasant in jeans after a full meal, just sayin!

So these Living Social certificates had been burning a whole in my coupon box for around two years when we finally decided to make the 45 minute drive over to Claremont to experience the beauty and natural wonder that is the Butterfly Pavilion. They only have the exhibit open for about 3 months out of the year, and it’s normally just a small up-charge for entrance. My thinking was, why not wear a bright, rose-covered skirt and attempt to attract them to me?! It sorta worked…
