DSC_0008Hey, Babes!
I know, I know, it has been SO long since my last post! If you follow me on Insta, you may have seen my updates about attending New York Fashion Week THIS THURSDAY…. OMG, it’s less than two days away, I can’t. Let’s just say, I am not prepared, and scheduling everything has been incredibly time-consuming, creating an itinerary for 6 ladies! I wanted to prep 8 outfits, and only have 5 currently planned out, am missing pieces from specific looks, made a last-minute dash to Forever 21 last night for nude bodysuit, which, what the heck, took me 30 minutes to find! Enough with the run-on sentences, haha, let’s just say I am hoping I can pull it all off in time. And also, that all of it fits in my new luggage!
I’ve been sharing sneaks of my looks on stories, but you’ll be able to see a full recap here after I’ve returned from New York. I seriously am so excited to share with you all the fun looks I’ve put together, all of the excitement from the shows, presentations, showroom visits, meals, and, wait for it, the photo shoot my group is doing with one of my favorite dress brands!
For now, enjoy this Valentine’s Day and date night-perfect cropped and sequined outfit. Sparkles, heels, and little peeks of skin are my idea of the ideal ensemble for a night out (or in), with my honey.

Hello, my loves!
Happy Wednesday. It really does feel like the middle of the week right now, because I’m sandwiched between weekends full of events! It’s kind of a new feeling for me, but I’m not mad at it. If you follow me on Insta, you probably already knew that I attended OC Fashion Week and I had a blast! I met up with some of the other members of the SoCal Blogger Babes group, and we watched a handful of local designers show off their latest collections. This weekend, I’ll be attending a restaurant opening in-town, Fashion Week OC at Fashion Island hosted by Simply, and visiting my local Nordstrom to check out their Fall Beauty Trend event! Whew! I’m far from a social butterfly, but I’m having so much fun traveling around Southern California, and honored to be included in the festivities!
Back to the outfit at hand, I finally found a fall transitional piece that incorporates one of my fave trends from summer, pompoms! This was actually my first foray in to trumpet sleeves, and I love that this trend is following us in to cooler months as well. Some pieces just FEEL fun, and this is definitely one of them. I paired it with a grey tank (a fall essential), some distressed denim complete with frayed hems, and these TDF heels! I wish they came in white, because I’d already be on that train, but I’m searching for a similar pair to rock all fall and winter long. I love this look because it’s current without being a slave to the trends, do you feel the same?

Summer Sheath and New Hair

August 25, 2017

London Times Maxine Sheath DressHello, loves!
This may be the first you’re seeing it, but I recently chopped off over a foot of hair! Yes, I donated it, because that seems to be the first question that anyone asks, followed by “why the hell did you do that?” Short answer, I felt like I needed a change. Long hair is gorgeous, don’t get me wrong, but I felt like mine was so long that I never knew what to do with it. Styles would take forever, and usually fall out quickly because I had too much hair to do them properly, or be physically laborious (girls with superlong hair will understand the arm/neck/shoulder pain of trying to style 2.5 foot long locks after already spending 20 minutes blowdrying.. it’s an upper body workout!). So I was left with only curling it, or straightening it, because my air dry waves were not so beach chic due to their weight.
Let me take you back a little bit, to the time before last I visited my stylist. She greeted me with “Hey, what are we doing to you today? I had a dream last night that you chopped all of your hair off!,” which of course had me wanting to flee. But later on that day, I was watching Jane the Virgin and saw one of the actresses, Xiomara, with a super cute lob. I found a still online and I screenshot a pic to send to my stylist, with the caption “hey, if I did go shorter, how would this cut look on me?,” to overwhelmingly positive response. Honestly, I had completely forgotten about that conversation until I received her reminder text the day before my most recent appointment. Low and behold, 2 months later, that pic would serve as inspiration for this style you see today. Yes, it was impulsive, and yes, I realllllllly miss my hair. But I’m also having fun styling it and finding how much more versatile this shorter length is. More to come in the next post!
Moving on to this gorgeous sheath dress from London Times, it’s truly one of my favorites from the collection right now. I love the print mixing, the curve-hugging shape, and the black, white and red combo. It’s classy for work, but could totally transition easily to a going out look. To take it from office to restaurant, I’d throw on some black, thin-heeled ankle booties, a cocktail ring and a maybe a crystal choker, to bring a little glam.

Day Date Maxi Look

June 25, 2017

Day Date Maxi Look
Hello, loves! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite maxi dresses for summer, the Kaia from Ellie & Adair. It’s definitely an item I would call an elevated basic, because it’s simple and can be dressed up or down, but it has some extra little details. This maxi features collarbone-grazing cutouts, knee-high slits, and… pockets! It’s also the softest stretch material and is so comfy to lounge around in, or it can totally be dressed up for a day date or the material at the bottom can be tied and worn for a GNO with some heeled sandals and a statement necklace.

When pulling the accessories to bring this dress to life, I knew I wanted to keep it playful and casual. I grabbed the necklace to add some color and a touch of glam, the sandals for comfort and simplicity, a denim button down for texture, and a crossbody bag only big enough for the essentials. I felt the look was missing something, so I tried on this panama hat. Just in case you all hadn’t noticed, I rarely wear hats, and only own a handful. They’re just not an accessory I reach for, and I think that’s because I am under the impression that I have an oddly shaped head. Most hats just  don’t fit my head right! I love a floppy sun hat, but most fedoras, caps, etc., I think are super unflattering on me. This one though called to me, and I’ve worn it several times since purchasing. I thought it perfectly went along with the casual, not-trying-too-hard vibe I was going for, and totally a look I would wear for a day date with the boyfriend.

If you love this dress as much as I do, you can shop it now at Ellie & Adair, just make sure to use code VIP15 at checkout to save 15% off your total purchase AND free shipping!
