DVF Maxi Gown and Platform Sandals

June 12, 2015

I’ve been waiting for a while now to find a photographer that I clicked with and I’m so happy to have found her! Miss Holli Zenko and I have known of each other for a while but it took me until a few weeks ago to get the idea to take her up on her incredible photography skills. For this inaugural shoot, I wanted to wear something breezy and colorful, which I definitely found in this Diane Von Furstenberg maxi dress. We had so much fun, took loads of great shots, and ended the afternoon with a glass of wine (or two!) For our next shoot, we’re going to play around with what will be the first in a series, One Item, Two Ways. I hope you all enjoy!

Simply Stylist LA

April 8, 2015

This post is definitely a bit delayed in going up, but here it finally is!
Due to some short notice and a less-than-flexible work schedule, I was only able to get off at 1 pm, to make it to the “cocktail hour” section of the Simply Stylist LA event. What I missed, and will certainly plan ahead for next time around, is the blogger brunch, featuring some of the industry’s top bloggers, and several expert panels, touching on everything blogging-related.
I made it there just in time to take a brief lap around the “brand experience” set-up, which I must say, I wasn’t thrilled with.. The lines were excessive, about 30 ladies in each waiting for one of two hairstylists, and one manicurist… There were so many people waiting for pizza and drinks, I didn’t bother with them because I knew I didn’t want to be late for the speakers upstairs at Morels!

The first speaker was the delightful and eloquent Calli Cholodenko, a social media expert. She spoke on timing, photo filters, hashtags, brand transparency and consistency in posts. I took over a page of notes and learned so much!
Next up was one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Jenny Bernheim of Margo & Me! I’ve always loved her feminine, yet eclectic style, and she’s so adorable with her petite frame and that hair! OK, I’ll cease with the girl crushing momentarily to say how much I enjoyed her time at the mic as well. She also spoke of consistency in blog posts, monetization, and staying true to your personal style and brand. I was able to grab her for a brief chat downstairs and she was very humble and gave me some great tips 🙂

I mean, seriously, how cute is her outfit!? Loved those shoes…
Since the boyfriend was able to join me for this trip out to the Grove, we decided to treat ourselves to a little meal at Bar Verde inside of Nordstrom.

We stopped in to Banana Republic where I fell in love with some of their suede heels, but I restrained, knowing they are frequently on sale online… I did find these two gorgeous pieces of jewelry that I had to grab.. Each were in the clearance section for under $20 (hello, good deal!) and I will get so much use out them (pictured with a could of recent lip products from Planet Beauty.)

Sounds like a dare to me.

The rule-breaker in me had to check out this view and snap a few shots.

Pink Gingham and Sparkles OOTD

April 8, 2015

Do you ever get the feeling like you want to throw on something SUPER girly and act just a little bit princess-y for the day? Maybe it’s just me, but I love getting dressed up in clothes in soft palettes with delicate details and making the day feel a little bit special (even if I was just going to work!)
I’ve had these Miu Miu heels for about 13 years now, and I will say time and time again.. If you’re going to invest in something quality for your wardrobe, make it shoes! Even bags to me shouldn’t be the end-all-be-all big ticket items in your wardrobe. We’re on our feet so much and deserve the support, quality, craftsmanship, comfort, and (hello!) cuteness that generally comes inherent with a well-made pair of shoes. Because we’re worth it 🙂
