Next time, I’ll definitely try it with something more fitted, as I feel the blousy-ness of this black wasn’t as flattering on my frame as I’d have liked 🙂

Floral Midi Skirt and Ruffled Tank

It’s only mid-June and this Southern California heat already has me longing for days spent poolside, with a nice, icy cocktail in my hand. Until my next vacation (Palm Springs in a few weeks!), where I can make that dream a reality, I will be attempting to bear this sweltering season in vented, flowy skirts and bare tanks. I love this particular skirt because it features virtually every bright, summery color, making it so fun to plan an outfit around. A couple of subtly shiny pieces of jewelry and a vintage handbag and I’m all set 🙂

Black and Navy Ruffles OOTD

Navy and black in an outfit has always seemed so effortless to me… It’s easier than trying to match blacks (we’ve all had that moment after taking a few steps outside when we realize our pants are a deep shade of ink and our shirt is a dingy shade of charcoal!), and they compliment each other so well.
I am loving these new heels, and so glad that there is now a Nordstrom Rack open about 3 miles from my house so I can find even more great steals on well-made and cute shoes! Their clothing selection I was kind of “meh” about on opening day, but I’m down for $40 designer shoes any day!

Black and White and Ruby OOTD

To tuck or not to tuck..
I’ve always been undecided about tucking my tops in to my pants, mostly because I feel it can be unflattering on the wearer. After seeing an infinite number of pictures on my favorite blogs and Pinterest that depicted the act, I thought I would finally try it out! I feel that it does make me look a little bit shorter in the torso, but it’s kind of fun and adds some dimension to a look. Which do you prefer?
