Floaty Vest & LBD

I have a confession to make… I don’t get vests. Or, I guess I should say, I “didn’t” get vests. They’ve always been kind of a mystery to me. They don’t really add any warmth, I personally think puffer vests are highly unattractive, and if they’re printed, it’s a whole other story with what to pair them with! My thoughts have changed a bit since I found this floaty little piece. Fitting in completely with my personal style mantra of “a little feminine, a little edgy,” this third piece is fantastic for adding some interest to an otherwise unremarkable LBD. I’d also pair it with a tank and skinny jeans, or a white t-shirt an black pencil skirt. Lots of options here! So I guess opinions can change, as long as it’s the right match!

Dinner at Bellatrix

For the first of Mark’s birthday festivities, we headed to the French fine dining restaurant, Bellatrix, located in Palm Desert, CA. I grabbed a few quick shots of our food and of the gorgeous scenery.

The braised honey BBQ shortribs with veggies and cauliflower puree was to die for. Seriously, I could eat this meal every week. Highly recommend.

Mark ordered the macadamia-crusted sea bass on shredded veggies and thoroughly enjoyed it.

How gorgeous is the interior? It felt so grand and luxurious. I would love to attend a holiday party here! Or hey, maybe I’ll throw one 🙂

Rose Maxi Dress

I instantly fell in love with this dress when I saw it on HM.com. One thing I didn’t realize is that it features thigh-high slits on either side! Fantastic for a pool party or brunch, but a little too revealing to wear this stunner to work. It happened to be quite warm this day, as is more often the case than not since July has rolled around, so the slits worked well for ventilation 😉
I thought there no better place to shoot this look than the grounds at Kimberly Crest, a local historical gem with gorgeous views of the city. It’s one of my favorite places to visit on my day off to just let the stress from the week melt away.
