Kyle Chan Birthday Party

I love a good party… Especially one involving close friends, dressing up and a fun new venue. Last week, I grabbed my friend Amanda, some new pretties from Rent the Runway, and drove to LA for the birthday party of my favorite jewelry designer, Kyle Chan of Kyle Chan Design. We started the eve off with some primping at Nail Bar and Beauty Lounge in Beverly Hills, then headed to the Café Brentwood for soup, salad, and dessert, and finally, off to Pump Restaurant for the main event!

I was able to snag one more shot with the birthday boy, this time, joined by Tom Schwartz, a cast member from the reality show Vanderpump Rules.

I fiiiiiiinally came off the waitlist recently for Rent the Runway’s Unlimited program, and I couldn’t wait to style the items I received in my first shipment! I love the finish of this backpack/handbag from Elizabeth & James. It can easily pair with silver or gold and it’s a definite attention-grabber. I’m a fan of the House of Harlow bracelet too, and although I initially thought it had rhinestones on the V’s, I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I like the all-gold appearance.

Emerald Phillip Lim and Gold Accents

I thought it fitting that my first post on the new blog would include a few of my favorite things! I’ve been mildly obsessed with the vibrant color of this Phillip Lim for Target blouse ever since I made it up in my mind to stay awake till 2 in the morning to buy it. The camel pumps from Forever 21 are surprisingly comfortable and act as a great neutral against the bold top and all of the gold jewelry. I’ve been on such a gold kick recently, I feel like I haven’t been giving any of my silver-toned pieces a chance. Here’s to mixing it up!
