Amazon Milumia Button Maxi DressHello, beauties!
I know you may be thinking, “Hey, does that dress look familiar?” Well, you’d be right, because this is a very similar style to a dress that I wore recently, just in a slightly different and more fall-tastic color palette. I was so in love with the first style I bought, I wanted to see what other patterns it came in.. Turns out, the answer is – a lot! Just about 35 variations on the same dress, and I’ve got my eye on at least 2 others for fall. The length is perfect on me, (I’m 5’7″), the material is slightly stretchy and lightweight without being transparent, and the button-details, although a pain in the ass the first time you close them all up, look so pretty spanning the front of the dress.
I can say that without a doubt that my mentality of “If you find something you like, buy it in multiple colors” came from my mom. As a young teenager, it was pretty difficult to find clothing in my size that was actually cute, so when my mom took me shopping and I found something that fit, she would encourage me to find every variation they offered! So sometimes, I would come home with 3 butterfly-print maxi skirts with different colored backgrounds. It’s been a little difficult to break that mentality EVERY time I go shopping haha, but a girl has to set a budget eventually!
What’s something you’ve purchased multiples of? I’d love to hear what was good enough to go back for seconds, or thirds!

Fall Transitions with Simply Be

Hello, my loves!
Happy Wednesday. It really does feel like the middle of the week right now, because I’m sandwiched between weekends full of events! It’s kind of a new feeling for me, but I’m not mad at it. If you follow me on Insta, you probably already knew that I attended OC Fashion Week and I had a blast! I met up with some of the other members of the SoCal Blogger Babes group, and we watched a handful of local designers show off their latest collections. This weekend, I’ll be attending a restaurant opening in-town, Fashion Week OC at Fashion Island hosted by Simply, and visiting my local Nordstrom to check out their Fall Beauty Trend event! Whew! I’m far from a social butterfly, but I’m having so much fun traveling around Southern California, and honored to be included in the festivities!
Back to the outfit at hand, I finally found a fall transitional piece that incorporates one of my fave trends from summer, pompoms! This was actually my first foray in to trumpet sleeves, and I love that this trend is following us in to cooler months as well. Some pieces just FEEL fun, and this is definitely one of them. I paired it with a grey tank (a fall essential), some distressed denim complete with frayed hems, and these TDF heels! I wish they came in white, because I’d already be on that train, but I’m searching for a similar pair to rock all fall and winter long. I love this look because it’s current without being a slave to the trends, do you feel the same?

Starfish Project x Dressed for Time

September 6, 2017

through them may provide me with a small commission. This is one of the
things that keeps Dressed for Time going 😀

Starfish Project Julian Necklace reviewHello, babes!
I’ve found a new jewelry company that I had to share with you for several reasons. First off, they are creating some gorgeous, versatile, and amazing quality pieces at super attainable prices. Second, they’re a brand that truly gives back. Starfish Project is bringing education, housing, employment and counseling to women and girls who are escaping the human trafficking trade in Asia. They’re a non-profit, so your dollars are going directly to helping these woman regain control of their lives. I’m proud to partner with Starfish Project to show you some of the amazing pieces they’ve created!
Above is the Julian Necklace, which is one of my fave year-round choices. I’m such a fan of metal-mixing right now. This one pairs brilliant gold, antique gold, and gunmetal, making it so easy to then change up your rings and bracelets too. This is one of those pieces that looks equally as good paired with a t-shirt or a blazer.

The Kerry Necklace is a gorgeous layered piece, perfect for pairing with busier prints. I love that the ivory and amber stone is going to look so pretty against the burgundy, scarlet, and persimmon tones of fall.

Starfish Project Holly Necklace Review  This aqua and gold beauty is the Holly Necklace, a piece that is truly unique because no crystal sold is like the others. This pendant catches the light so beautifully, it must be seen in person to fully appreciate.

Starfish Project Necklace Review  Lastly, the Chloe necklace.. This beauty is unfortunately sold out, it was so popular, but I had to share it nonetheless. They have a similar style out right now, the Lauren, which also has a green stone and antique gold chain.

I truly enjoy working with companies that do good. Starfish Project is giving back in a way that’s more than just throwing money to a cause, they’re improving lives and providing women with valuable skills and security, which is such a beautiful thing.

August Stitch Fix Review

August 24, 2017

August Stitch Fix Review - Red top and cropped denimHello, babes!
My August Stitch Fix Review has arrived, woohoo! It’s so surreal to say August, geeze. I’m going to be 32 in a couple months, and I feel like that number is definitely creeping up on me! Anyway, on to the fix and the end-of-summertasticness that it tuned out to be. This round, I asked for an off-shoulder top, some colorful tanks, and a new maxi dress.
I’ll start with the maxi dress, which was most definitely my least favorite piece in my fix. I’m not a self-hater by far, but trust me when I say that this is a dress that will only look flattering on a super skinny chick. It’s one of those dresses that clings to every little part of you, accentuating EVERYTHING. Also the self-tie belt was a little ridiculous. The rest of the pieces those were SO cute and perfect for the season. Read on to hear my thoughts on the rest of this month’s fix..

August Stitch Fix Review - Embroidered Summer Top August Stitch Fix Review - Summer Embroidered Top Top / Stitch Fix // Capris / Old Navy // Bag / Forever 21 // Necklace / Gorjana

This embroidered-neck top was SO cute when I pulled it out of the box, but wearability because such an issue with this one. It looked off wearing a bralette, because of the neckline, but because of the sheerness, you could see my strapless bra quite visibly. At $32, it was a great deal, but I kind of have to be able to wear a bra.
Top, $32, returned.

August Stitch Fix Review - Floral Top and Jeans August Stitch Fix Review - Summer Floral Top Tank / Stitch Fix // Cropped denim / Old Navy // Bag / Botkier // Long & Short necklaces / Gorjana from Rocksbox (use code “kristinbff320” for your first month free) // Sandals / JustFab

Ahhhh, this print! So vivid, so cheery and floral. The lace-up detailing is a cute touch, and I love that the bag and shoe pairings with this top are endless.
Tank, $36, kept.

August Stitch Fix Review - Lemon Off Shoulder Top August Stitch Fix Review - Summer Off the Shoulder BlouseCitrus top / Stitch Fix // Cropped jeans // Old Navy // Choker lariat / Poppy Apparel (use code “dressedfortime” at checkout for 10% off) // Bag / Nordstrom // Sandals / Just Fab

“Totes adorbs” is the first thought that came to mind when trying on this top. At second glance, though, it was a little bit, and also had a small snag in the front. I tried to swap it out for a smaller size, but it wasn’t available, so, at $48, it was sent back.

August Stitch Fix Review - Striped Maxi DressThis silly thing, haha. At $58, it wasn’t the most I’d ever spend on a maxi dress, but I would pay more for one that fit better. Dress, returned.

August Stitch Fix Review - Split-Neck Top and Cropped Jeans August Stitch Fix Review - Red Summer Top Top / Stitch Fix // Cropped distressed jeans / Old Navy // Bag / Trive Alive from the Box of Style // Choker / Gorjana // Sandals / JustFab

So this top I was on the fence about until the end. It had a sheer printed bandana-like material on the back, but the front just seemed a touch basic to me. Not special enough to warrant keeping.
Top, $48, returned.

Overall, I thought I was going to be keeping more from this fix, but after remembering I’m really trying to pare down my wardrobe to basics and pieces I can’t live without, I kept only the one tank that I fell in love with. I hope you enjoyed my August Stitch Fix review!
