Roses and Colorblocking

September 1, 2015

DSC_0095 Another lovely, yet hottt weekend in southern California. All told, I feel like this summer still has not been as hot as recent summers past. I better get my butt in a pool before it ends though! Definitely on the list, and I’m surprised it hasn’t happened yet. I had a chance in Palm Springs but those Bloody Mary’s poolside just sounded like a better idea at the time.
I’ve started shooting with a new photographer, and I quite enjoy our work! It’s great to meet young female entrepreneurs in my area. I love that we can support each other and help one another grow our businesses. Plus, she’s funny, so that’s always a big plus 😀
I’m going to start pretty soon working 6 days a week until the end of the year, so it is going to be a struggle to keep up with posting, but I so enjoy shooting for and writing them, so I’m happy to find a balance!

Polka Dot Midi Dress

DFT Library Picks40Another fun piece from the I Heart Ronson line at JcPenney!
When it’s as hot as it has been in, I long for lightweight printed dresses and bare sandals (not to mention, my hair off of my neck!) to keep me cool. I found this dress recently on JcPenney’s website and knew I would love it for running around town, although with a couple of tweaks, I could totally wear it to work.

A Downtown Stroll

July 2, 2015

DFT 2087
Oh baby, it’s hot outside…
With this absurdly warm weather, also comes the Redlands Bowl Summer Concert Series, a bi-weekly event where half of the town gathers to have a massive picnic and listen to a variety of performers. I love to fix up a gorgeous meal like bruschetta, a meat, cheese and olive plate, chilled pasta and a berry trifle, accompanied by a couple bottles of wine and some fantastic company. It’s one of those perfect summer evenings. I plan on attending several of these concerts this season, as the lineup is quite intriguing.

For this look, I definitely wanted to keep cool, but also add a couple pops of color with the help of my coral crossbody bag and ombre reflective sunnies. I think that’s what keeps black & white from being too serious in the summer, and I’m loving coral and orange-y tones right now.
