Hello, loves! I can’t believe that Halloween is already upon us! It seems like just yesterday I was trying to convince my coworkers to join me in dressing up like the ladies of the 80’s comedy “9 to 5” and them all looking at me like I was crazy (those party poopers!) I decided to strike out on my own and recreate Dolly Parton from the preceding decade, country singer Dolly in the 70’s! I’m so excited to throw on a gingham skirt and stuff my bra with about 8 pairs of socks. Oh, and the accent, can’t forget that! 😉
When putting this look together, I definitely wanted to create an outfit that was multi-functional. I would wear this ensemble to brunch, out shopping with the girls, on a casual date night (wedge booties are the PERFECT footwear for a date when you might be walking a fair bit or on uneven ground, you get a bit of height while staying comfortable), or even to work. The skirt is made of the comfiest stretch knit material, and the top is flattering on everyone, especially those (like me!) with a little tummy. I can’t wait to start pairing my pencil skirts with tights and a scarf when the weather allows. Check out my previous post here to see how I styled another versatile Stitch Fix knit skirt.

Hello, loves!
Dress / Anthropologie // Sleeveless trench c/o
Welcome to my September

This midi dress just really isn’t my style at all. I’m not drawn to the print or the halter neckline, and the fit was way off. Dress, $68, returned.
Do you see what I mean about the Coachella-worthiness of this top? It’s just not my thing, plus it was a very small large. Tank, $54, returned.
Another permanent on my wishlist is colored bottoms. These were definitely more purple than burgundy, and I didn’t see these as getting much use this fall and winter. Jeans, $88, returned.
Welcome another perfect summer-to-fall transitional outfit. This grey cardi & white cropped denim look would have been the perfect thing to wear on a summer day with sandals and minus the sweater. Adding another layer on top and swapping out the sandals for ankle booties makes it ideal for wearing as the temperatures start to drop, also proving another way that you can wear white after Labor Day (check out my other post on the subject
