Maxi at the Mansion

I’ll be honest, it’s been a little while since I rented something from Rent the Runway that I loved as much as this maxi dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA. The printed lace detail is just gorgeous, it fits like a dream (although a smidgen too long for the heels that I wore), and it can really be dressed up or down.

When brainstorming a location to shoot this beauty, my photographer, Holli, instantly thought of the Kimberly Crest mansion. We’d both been to swanky events hosted there, and every one has been memorable due to the fantastic scenery. This place holds so much history and drama and is truly at it’s prime around sunset.

Polka Dot Midi Dress

Another fun piece from the I Heart Ronson line at JcPenney!
When it’s as hot as it has been in, I long for lightweight printed dresses and bare sandals (not to mention, my hair off of my neck!) to keep me cool. I found this dress recently on JcPenney’s website and knew I would love it for running around town, although with a couple of tweaks, I could totally wear it to work.

Flamingo Set

When I was perusing JcPenney’s website the other day for fun little things to help decorate with for our upcoming housewarming anniversary party (any excuse to throw a party, right?!), I couldn’t help wandering over to the I Heart Ronson section. I’ve found some really cute, well-made tops from this line for work before and love that the inventory changes so frequently. I fell in LOVE with this top and skirt set as soon as I saw it… Playful, flattering, kind of cheeky, but still work-appropriate. With eBates, a coupon code, and their already reasonable prices, both of these items were under $35 total! I would definitely pair the top with some skinny black pants or blue jeans, and the skirt with a black top or white T-shirt and sneakers to casualize (that’s not a word, autocorrect?!) the look.

Sachin + Babi Geisha Dress

I had been considering renting this Sachin + Babi dress from Rent the Runway for months, and finally just decided to take the leap! It’s a very… interesting design and I can’t say it’s the most flattering for someone with the curviness that I have. That being said, it definitely turns heads, and the fabric feels so luxurious. I probably wouldn’t rent it again but it was fun to twirl around in for the afternoon 🙂
