Oui Non with Le Tote

I’ve started a new rental service called Le Tote, which I have to say I’m really liking so far! If ya don’t already know, Le Tote is a subscription service that allows you to add items to your “closet” and select 3 clothing and two accessories-type items to receive per shipment. Once you’ve gotten your use out of the goods, send everything back and choose the next set. If you’re interested in trying out the service, you’re welcome to use my link, Le Tote. You get $25 off your first month, you can cancel any time, and I get $15 for you signing up. Transparency is my thing, as I wouldn’t recommend a service I haven’t personally used and enjoyed. That being said, I really like the items I selected.. This flippy floral skirt was super fun to twirl around in. I also received a girly nude bag with gold hardware that I LOVE, jade faux-wrap dress (too big on me), olive midi skirt (could not for the life of me figure out what to pair with it), and this gorgeous gold chain and emerald beaded necklace. There were obviously some highs and lows in this set, (mostly highs), partially because I didn’t consult the size chart 😛 Either way, I’m greatly looking forward to my next shipment. I’ve been eyeing this black and white striped top and a couple of items from House of Harlow, which I will surely be photographing soon! Throwback Thursday

I knew I wanted to wear this fluid ASOS maxi skirt for this shoot but when I started styling it, I found myself gravitating towards a look I’d seen many times before.. Pretty much what was hot amongst fashion bloggers a year ago! The Old Navy cutesy quote t-shirt, the statement necklace, and the sequined clutch. I realized I’d never gotten in on the fun and posted a look of my own!

Besides being comfortable and a bit cheeky (ha!), this look even has a hint of sex appeal, thanks to a thigh-high slit in the skirt. I don’t mind that it’s not the freshest or trendiest ensemble out there because it’s still cute and perfect for a Sunday brunch, which is exactly where I wore it after these pictures were shot 😉

Casual Pineapple and My New Fave

It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the newest member of my accessories family.. This lovely (and functional, it’s also a crossbody!) Botkier bag! I’d been wanting to own one of their pieces for a while, after falling in love with the Cobalt Trigger Small Satchel and the Black Trigger Crossbody I received from Rent the Runway.

This one took some effort to finally have in my possession, after the package containing it, two scarves and a necklace purchased from Rent the Runway were stolen off my front porch 🙁 I had to re-purchase it and wait another week for it to get to me, but I’ve been so happy with it ever since! It’s got oodles of places to put all of my necessities and a unique magnetic closure instead of a zipper for the main compartment.

I love a casual, effortless look like this that’s still put together. It’s always great to add in a surprising element (color, texture, print) to a white tee and jeans, and this adorable pineapple print scarf did just the trick!

Layered by Cake Shopping Party

Last week, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a shopping event at the charming boutique, Layered by Cake. Shannon, the gracious and always impeccably-styled owner, helped me welcome some of my nearest and dearest friends for a late afternoon of browsing, sipping, indulging (cake pops are awesome!), and, of course, learning some amazing style tips.

I’m pretty obsessed with this shop right now, and I love that Shannon is constantly updating her inventory to not only bring in new trends and fresh styles, but also based on the feedback that she encourages from all of her customers.
Shannon is offering a FREE Wardrobe Refresh Workshop for those in the Inland Empire area on Saturday, September 5th starting at 11. I missed her last one, so I will definitely be attending next weekend!
