FabFitFun Fall Reveal

October 19, 2016

FabFitFun Fall RevealA new season has arrived, and with it, the FabFitFun fall reveal!
I was definitely looking forward to this box, because I knew it would be full of pretty little things to make the best of the cooler weather. I’ve broken down all of the contents of this subscription box into a couple of categories, because there was just so much jam-packed in to it! Read all the way to the bottom for a $10 off discount code 😉

FabFitFun Fall Reveal - Coloring Book and Pencils Coloring book & coloring pencils – FabFitFun
I was stoked to receive another coloring book and new pencils! I thoroughly enjoy the one I already have, which is of underwater creatures, but was in need of a more beginner-level version. This one is full of flowers and other pretty things and each page can be completed in a night, as opposed to a week for the larger, more detailed designs. I also think it’s fantastic that when purchasing add-ons, I was given the option to donate to Pencils of Promise, a global community that’s focused on increasing access of quality education for children in developing countries.

FabFitFun Fall Reveal - Eyeshadow Palette, Lipgloss Quad and Brow GelNow for the makeup, always one of my favorite categories!
I’ve held off on getting any of the Naked palettes, for one reason or another, and it must have been because I knew that this Nude Collection palette from Pure Cosmetics ($50) was coming my way. I’ve found the pigments to be true, long-wearing, and I love that this palette can take your eye look from natural to super-smoky depending on the shades you use.
The Cargo lip gloss quad was an add-on purchase for $9 (down from $20). I’ve been a longtime fan of Cargo and the classic tin packaging is definitely nostalgic for me, as I used to collect them about a decade ago!
Always in search of the perfect brow products, I generally prefer a tinted gel, because I think they look more natural and add a bit of pigment to brows. This water-resistant version from The Browgal is clear, but I do like that it holds brows in place through working out and a night of dancing.

FabFitFun Fall Reveal - Skincare Essentials The Purlisse sunscreen ($9) was an add-on, and a product I already know that I love. It’s a perfect combination of moisturizer and sunscreen and does a great job at both.
The Skin Laundry Restoring Night Serum ($50) I have only remembered to use a couple of times, to be honest, because washing my face is the last thing I do before going to sleep and most nights I’m so tired, I simply forget! I have noticed my skin nice and smooth when I wake up, and I’m definitely going to take it with me when I travel.
I’ve never been a fan of body oils, because I feel that they are always so messy! They get all over the bottle, the counter, and anything you touch after using them. I can’t say that this French Lavender mini version from Mullein & Sparrow ($18) is any different, because pouring oil out of a glass bottle is decidedly not the cleanest method of dispensing it, but I do feel that it left my skin moisturized and I loved the delicate lavender scent.

FabFitFun Fall Reveal - Yoga Essentials (That’s what I get for wearing a hot pink shirt while using a reflector haha!)
I added on this Cucio Somatology Yoga Essentials Kit for $19 and I’ve already made great use of it. The Mat Spray leaves a gorgeous fresh scent on something that rarely smells gorgeous or fresh. I also love the balancing lotion and oil for giving me a sense of calm if I’m feeling a little stressed out.
I already own another pair of toeless foot socks, but these from Toesox ($18) will definitely come in handy once those get worn out. They’re a great addition to your Pilates or yoga practice.

FabFitFun Fall Reveal - Greeting Cards, Coffee Mug, Shower Gel SpongeLast but not least, the fun stuff!
The Ban.do greeting card set ($10) was a great find. The cheeky sayings and cute pictures will brighten up the day of my friends and family when I send them off.
I really wanted the coffee cup that said “good morning, gorgeous!” because that’s what Mark says to me every morning, but instead I got the “joy comes in the morning” saying. I’ve only used this cup once and I was not impressed. My tea that was boiling hot at home was room temp by the time I got to work. It also made a whistling noise when I sipped from the cup. Not my favorite.
Another kind of odd item is the Spongelle Bulgarian Rose Body Wash Infused Buffer ($16). It smells divine, first and foremost, but it’s not very practical. You could never travel with it, I can’t imagine it drying out properly between uses, and I can’t imagine it’s going to last enough uses to make it worth the retail price tag.
Who couldn’t use another plaid scarf for fall?! Again, I was hoping for a different version, but I guess that’s why it makes it more ideal to purchase the year of FabFitFun boxes in advance. That way, you get to have options and choose the version you like best. I’ll still gets tons of use out of this black and white Loch and Key blanket scarf from Modcloth ($35).

All in all, this box was DEFINITELY worth the price of admission. It contains over $250 worth of items for $49.99. If you’re interested in signing up for the FabFitFun Fall box (they’re still available!) or the upcoming winter box, feel free to use my link here and code “FALL20” when checking out for $10 off your first box, making it only $39.99!

This post contains affiliate links. I may receive a small commission if you click on or purchase items through these links. This is what helps keep Dressed for Time going! All opinions stated are my own, and I will always give my honest thoughts on any items or subscription boxes I post about.

Graphic Minidress & Vest

October 18, 2016

Graphic Minidress & Vest - Full Fall LookHello, loves!
I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! Mark and I definitely kept ourselves busy, and got so much accomplished. I love weekends like that, when you can sit down and focus on all of those little tasks you put off during the week. We started on Saturday by heading to Santa Monica for BMW’s 100 year anniversary presentation, which you may have caught a glimpse of on my Instagram stories. It was my first time using stories, so hopefully I was doing it right! We took a peek at several concept cars, sat in a drop head coupe Rolls Royce, and randomly fell in lust with the Mini Cooper Clubman. I had never seen it in person, but once I got inside, I loved how roomy it was and the surprisingly advanced technology. We ate at a little Mediterranean restaurant then headed back home to watch football and do laundry. Yesterday we stayed in, cleaning the house, more laundry (does it ever end??) and I posted about 40 items to my Poshmark account. I’m not even close to finishing cleaning my closet, but that felt like a good start. The easiest place to start is what did I not wear this past summer and what makes me think I would wear it if I held on to it to wear next year.. If there’s a dress that I haven’t touched since last year, I’m obviously over it and could stand to make a little money instead of letting it collect dust in my closet 😉

This bipolar weather has me reaching for the lightest of layers, like this gauzy, belted vest. I love how the slits on the side allow for air to pass through when you’re walking. Even though the material would typically be reserved for warmer temps, it adds a little edge to this knit mini dress, paired with the ring clutch. I remember when Alexander McQueen came out with the original of this style, and it was something like 2k. I can’t say that even if I was loaded I would pay that much for a bag, but certainly not a clutch. I was browsing on eBay one day and came across this similar style for about $20. I’ve definitely got more use out of it than expected, and my favorite time to wear it, believe it or not, is the middle of the day. Worn when it’s daylight, the bag is more quirky than badass.

What did you get up to this weekend? I’d love to hear!
Side note, this is the shortest dress I own and I was so nervous to wear it… Tights are definitely on the menu next time haha.

Layering a Midi Dress and a Giveaway!

October 15, 2016

Layering a Midi Dress and a Giveaway - Fall Outift with Leopard Heels Hello, loves!
Two things I’m excited about in this post.. Actually, three, now that I think about it! First off, it’s finally temperature-appropriate to start layering again! I’m totally in to throwing a vest or sweater over a midi dress. Print mixing could get tricky here, so I prefer to keep the pieces basic and then accessorize with something more colorful, like jewelry or a great scarf. Second, I’m so in love with these new stone pieces from Ronnie M Jewelry. The long tassel necklace and wrap bracelet are handmade by an awesome lady entrepreneur, Veronica. She’s one of those women who is so proud and excited about what she creates, her enthusiasm for the line is infectious. Her website is now live, and I’m obsessed with all of the new fall-perfect goodies.
Last but not least, I’m excited to share a giveaway that’s currently going on Instagram. I’ve partnered with I Shop Simply to give away store credit to their expansive online boutique! I love this site because the inventory is constantly being updated with of-the-moment dresses, skirts, and tops, along with basics like tanks and tees at AMAZING prices. This midi dress, still available on the site, is only $27, and made of the softest stretch fabric. So flattering and versatile, definitely a win-win in my book! I’d also pair it with a plaid scarf and sneakers or a sparkly statement necklace and pumps. On top of that, I Shop Simply is offering 10% off to all of my readers with the code “dressedfortime” at checkout.

The contest ends Monday night, so be sure to head on over and enter for your chance to win 😀

September Stitch Fix

October 8, 2016

September Stitch Fix - Blue Trench, White Blouse, Statement Necklace Welcome to my September Stitch Fix!
This month, I requested from my stylist a grey sweater, a midi dress, colored jeans, a trench coat, and another fun item of my stylist’s choosing. I mostly got what I asked for, but it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. The trench was a darker blue, not quite navy, which I actually appreciated it being in a non-standard shade, and it was still very versatile. When playing around with outfit possibilities it went with nearly everything I paired it with! The only major downside was that it wrinkled like CRAZY. I don’t feel like carrying my steamer around with me, so back it went. I was wanting a more neutral, chunky knit grey cardigan, instead I got a 3/4 sleeve, lightweight printed version. Still super cute and I thought it paired perfectly with white denim. The wildcard item was a lace strappy tank. It was a little too festival-season for us to be going in to fall, so it also went back. Read on to check out the rest of my September Stitch Fix.

September Stitch Fix - Pencil Skirt, Trench Coat and Flats September Stitch Fix - Rocksbox Necklace, Blue Trench Coat Trench & Skirt / StitchFix // Sleeveless top / Elizabeth & Clarke // Necklace / Rocksbox (use code “kristinbff320” for your first month free) // Flats / Louise et Cie // Sunnies / Layered by Cake
Trench, $88, returned.

September Stitch Fix - Grey Cardigan, Tank, White Cropped Pants, Ankle Booties September Stitch Fix - Printed Grey & White Cardigan, Grey TankCardigan / StitchFix // Tank / Forever 21 // Cropped denim / Old Navy // Clutch / Scarlet Threads Consignment // Booties / Target // Bracelet / Kendra Scott via Rocksbox (use code “kristinbff320 for 1 free month)
You’ll recognize this look from my last post. I love this piece because it’s so soft, has fun fringe detailing at the bottom, and it’s the perfect “throw it on over a tank and jeans and go” item to make an outfit complete. This one was a keeper. Cardigan, kept, $54.

September Stitch Fix - Striped Midi DressThis midi dress just really isn’t my style at all. I’m not drawn to the print or the halter neckline, and the fit was way off. Dress, $68, returned.

September Stitch Fix - White Lace TankDo you see what I mean about the Coachella-worthiness of this top? It’s just not my thing, plus it was a very small large. Tank, $54, returned.

September Stitch Fix - Purple JeansAnother permanent on my wishlist is colored bottoms. These were definitely more purple than burgundy, and I didn’t see these as getting much use this fall and winter. Jeans, $88, returned.

All in all, I ended up keeping just the cardigan. Next time, I’m going to ask my stylist again for another grey cardigan or sweater, something more cozy and chunky knit. I’m also in the mood for a new crossbody bag or maybe a pretty print scarf.

If you’re interested in trying out Stitch Fix for yourself, feel free to use my referral link. I get a commission if you sign up, but know that I wouldn’t recommend a service that I wasn’t personally using and loving myself.
