Oui Non with Le Tote

September 13, 2015

DFT- Groves and Oak Glen02
I’ve started a new rental service called Le Tote, which I have to say I’m really liking so far! If ya don’t already know, Le Tote is a subscription service that allows you to add items to your “closet” and select 3 clothing and two accessories-type items to receive per shipment. Once you’ve gotten your use out of the goods, send everything back and choose the next set. If you’re interested in trying out the service, you’re welcome to use my link, Le Tote. You get $25 off your first month, you can cancel any time, and I get $15 for you signing up. Transparency is my thing, as I wouldn’t recommend a service I haven’t personally used and enjoyed. That being said, I really like the items I selected.. This flippy floral skirt was super fun to twirl around in. I also received a girly nude bag with gold hardware that I LOVE, jade faux-wrap dress (too big on me), olive midi skirt (could not for the life of me figure out what to pair with it), and this gorgeous gold chain and emerald beaded necklace. There were obviously some highs and lows in this set, (mostly highs), partially because I didn’t consult the size chart 😛 Either way, I’m greatly looking forward to my next shipment. I’ve been eyeing this black and white striped top and a couple of items from House of Harlow, which I will surely be photographing soon!DFT- Groves and Oak Glen06 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen05 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen11 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen09 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen03 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen12 DFT- Groves and Oak Glen01T-shirt / Best Society // Skirt / Noir (Le Tote) // Sandals / JcPenney (similar) // Necklace / Clement (Le Tote) // Crystal bracelet / The Crowned Crane // Cage bracelet / Nectar Clothing // Clutch / vintage / Sunglasses / Nasty Gal (similar)

Cali Cool Date Night

September 9, 2015

DSC_0062It’s difficult sometimes to make jeans and heels seem fresh for a date, but I say it’s all in the details. These D’orsay pumps have this sexy little curvature to them that I love. Cuffing the jeans (a style tip I picked up from Shannon at Layered by Cake Boutique) allows more skin to peek out to highlight the footwear (also helpful in this sweltering heat, they act as vents when you’re wearing skinny jeans haha!) Another fun detail from this look is the one-shouldered top from the quarterly blouse subscription service, Elizabeth & Clarke. It’s a flirty element that doesn’t leave you feeling too bare. I topped it all off with a very summery and fun scenic clutch that holds just the essentials.. cell phone, compact mirror, lipstick, gum, eyeliner, perfume vial, and credit cards/ID.

Graphic Nature

September 8, 2015

DSC_0033Wait, already?! The holiday weekend is almost over?! Rude. I wanted at least one more day to clean and get our house in order. Mark and I are planning on having a little party with all of our friends (so I guess a big party, ha!) and I’d love for everything to be spotless so there’s less to stress over.
I think it’s important, as a host, to not worry about tidying the day of a party. It helps set a relaxed, welcome vibe and allows everyone to focus on having a good time… and the awesome food and drinks, of course! I’m planning a seaside/nautical theme for our party this year and have already come across some great decorations for the table and found the cutest drink dispenser with a chalkboard sign attached.
I really enjoyed the polished yet totally laid-back vibe of this look. The bucket bag carries everything I could need and is comfortable to carry. These lace-up flats are incredibly comfortable, and the silk blouse is breezy and light for these still 100+ days.

Throwback Thursday

September 4, 2015

DSC_0169I knew I wanted to wear this fluid ASOS maxi skirt for this shoot but when I started styling it, I found myself gravitating towards a look I’d seen many times before.. Pretty much what was hot amongst fashion bloggers a year ago! The Old Navy cutesy quote t-shirt, the statement necklace, and the sequined clutch. I realized I’d never gotten in on the fun and posted a look of my own!

Besides being comfortable and a bit cheeky (ha!), this look even has a hint of sex appeal, thanks to a thigh-high slit in the skirt. I don’t mind that it’s not the freshest or trendiest ensemble out there because it’s still cute and perfect for a Sunday brunch, which is exactly where I wore it after these pictures were shot 😉
