Seeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDIC

September 26, 2019

This post is sponsored by CBDMEDIC but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Seeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDIC - Product Review Hello, my dears!
Even though we’ve just entered the new fall season, I’m making the most of the last sunny days while I can. Although I have joined a gym, I’ve also been taking advantage of the gorgeous local trails and hiking spots I’ve discovered nearby. Some are definitely for beginners, and are quick and mostly flat/paved. Others are quite a bit more involved, steep, and challenging even on one of my good days.

Speaking of, I’ve struggled with occasional to frequent back, ankle, and neck/shoulder pain since I started working. Admittedly, more of my neck and shoulder pain is probably from the excessive amount of screen time I get. Hunching over a computer or craning to read texts, etc. Stretching before and after a workout definitely helps, but I’d been looking for something to help during a workout.

I went to my local CVS to check out their selection of CBD products, after hearing so many people talk about it’s many uses. I’m someone who despises taking pills, so I wanted to seek out something that I could use on-the-go as needed and where needed. I found the CBDMEDIC line, which includes their Active Sport™ line. They have an ointment that needs to be rubbed in with your fingers, which is not ideal for using when working out, but great for use at home. I instead picked up the Pain Relief Stick. It’s a travel-friendly and mess free solid that has camphor, menthol, hemp oil, along with several other emollients. I also liked that everything in the product is naturally derived.

CBDMEDIC at CVS - CBD Pain Relief Seeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDICNow to put it to the test!
There are some forest preserves near my house that I’d been wanting to check out for a while. It’s mostly flat but several miles long. As predicted, my ankle started to hurt after walking for a while at a brisk pace.

Hiking in the woods with CBDMEDICSeeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDIC Seeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDICSeeking Pain Relief with CBDMEDICI also applied some to my shoulders and neck. I loved that the balm went only where I applied it, and that I didn’t have to rub it in. I felt the pain-relieving element pretty quickly. My ankle pain kind of just faded away. While I wouldn’t say that my neck pain went away completely, this stick definitely helped. I’m working up to completing the entire loop, and will be sure to take this stick with me to help keep me going.

If you’re looking for a powerful and effective way to help with muscle pulls, strains, and joint distress, definitely check out the CVS store locator to see where to find their products. They also have CBD massage oil, sprays, and even ointment for arthritis.

Tell me in the comments, is there anything that holds you back when you work out?

Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxx

July 23, 2019

This post (Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxx) was created in partnership with Babbleboxx and the brands mentioned. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxx - FlatlayHello, loves!
I don’t know about you, but I am LIVING for these warm summer vibes. In Chicago especially, we’ve waited months upon months (feeling like years), for the time without rain and snow. Now, a day spent inside feels like wasted time, so why not get out and enjoy it! I’ve partnered with Babbleboxx to share some great items you can use all throughout the summer season.

Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxxSo speaking of warm temps, one of my favorite ways to cool down is with iced tea! So refreshing, and it gives you a little boost of energy. I prefer an unsweetened or lightly sweetened version to keep my cals in check. Thankfully, Straight Up Tea makes both versions. They don’t use any artificial ingredients and the taste is super fresh.

Colleen Rothschild Skincare Favorites - Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxxI’ve used Colleen Rothschild Beauty products before in my skincare routine, and I know already that I’m a fan of the Cleansing Balm. I was also sent the Sheer Renewal Cream (for weightless hydration and restore luminosity), and the Matcha Tea Treatment Toner. The toner has antiseptic and oil-absorbing ingredients to fight against future breakouts, which I’m definitely prone to more so in summer. If you’re looking to try out some of their products, be sure to use code BOXX20 until the end of this month to save 20% on your purchase.

Shampoo and Conditioner from Hask Unwined Collection Great hair care products are totally must-haves with all that we put it through in summer.. The heat, the pool, the sun.. I’ve been using the White Wine Shampoo and Conditioner from Hask, and it’s been helping keep my hair shiny and so smooth. Frizz is another thing we battle in the midwest and the grape seed oil in these products work to seal the cuticle and make frizz less noticeable. Check them out next time you’re at Ulta 😉

Cat Eye Sunglasses from Zenni Optical You can’t really enjoy a day in the sun without a great pair of sunnies! I’m always searching for the perfect pair and have found tons of cute styles that are fingerprint resistant and anti-reflective at Zenni Sunglasses. Affordability (and cuteness, duh), is something I look for in all of my glasses, and they have both in spades. The style I’m wearing has a fun oversized cat eye shape and gold accents (my fave!)

Protecting Your Skin With Ozeaderma SunscreenNow, for something you shouldn’t even think of leaving the house without, sunscreen! My skin is really important to me, and sun protection is the first step to achieving great skin. This Anti-Aging Antioxidant mineral sunscreen from Ozeaderma is plant-based and formulated without dyes, parabens, sulfates, and synthetic perfumes. I apply it after moisturizer and go light on the face makeup so I can reapply it as needed. Take 10% off of web purchases with the code SUNNY at checkout.

I hope you enjoyed my Outdoor Summer Essentials with BabbleBoxx! I’d love to hear in the comments, what are your summer essentials?

Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale’s Best Beauty Picks

July 11, 2019

This post contains affiliate links. Shopping through them may provide me with a small commission. I wouldn’t recommend anything I don’t know and love.

Shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale's Best Beauty PicksFull outfit shown here.

Hello, loves!
So I’ll be totally upfront with you about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I have mixed feelings. I see bloggers promote it like it’s Black Friday and recommend HUNDREDS of items that they tote as must-haves. Nothing against them, but I feel that not all of the items offered are gems, or even that good of a deal. I’ve purchased from the sale numerous times, and have had some items of clothing fall apart after one wash. I’ve also seen the items go on further discount weeks after the sale, which is never fun.

A brief rundown on the sale – it opens online to most cardholders on the 12th, at 12:30 PM EST/9:30 AM PST, or in stores when they open, and then to the public on the 19th. I am a cardholder, but don’t spend nearly enough money to be bumped up to their “influencer” or “icon/ambassador” status, so I’ll be shopping on the 12th (or 13th, or 14th ?as I’m currently in North Carolina and plan on enjoying my vacation.)

That being said, there are several beauty finds that I do feel are incredible deals. There are SO many different items available that I wanted to create a bit of a guide for the deals that I think are worth pursuing, if you’re in need of replenishments, or wanting to try some fun new products. I hope you enjoy my tips on shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale’s best beauty picks!

Hair

I initially had the Beachwaver on my list, because I REALLY want to try it, but at the same time, it didn’t look like the iron I wanted was going to be discounted during this sale. (Edited to add that the Beachwaver is now discounted heavily since the cardholder sale started, and I’ll be picking it up!) This t3 verison, I’ve also heard really good things about. I haven’t updated my curling iron OR blow dryer for over 15 years, so those babies need a break. Also love the products they use when I get a blowout at DryBar, so I’d be excited to have them for everyday styling.

Skincare

Skincare is so specific to your individual needs, but these would be my picks from the sale. My skin is relatively normal, with occasional dryness around my nose, and some oiliness at the forehead. I have concerns about fine lines and wrinkles around my eyes and mouth, along with wanting to even my skin tone, reduce sun spots, keep breakouts at bay, and of course, sun protection. Basically, I WANT IT ALL! But really, what I typically use is multi-tasking products like a hydrating eye cream that helps with wrinkles, antioxidant face wash, sunscreen/moisturizer combo, and a night cream for wrinkle prevention. And occasionally, I’ll go in with something extra, like a toner, face mask, or extra hydrating layer.
My standouts from what I shared above would be the Becca Skin Love Set, the Kopari set because it’s so perf for summer travel, and the SuperGoop spray duo.

Fragrance

I’ve been obsessed with Versace Bright Crystal for so long, I’ve actually gone through two bottles and am currently out. Not only is the scent incredible and perfect for warmer months, but the bottle is just stunning. I also love having a reed diffuser out when I have an area that can’t have an active flame. For the more open areas of my house, I adore lighting candles for that lovely ambience and yummy smell.

Makeup

Y’all know I’m obsessed with makeup, so obviously this category is bigger than any of the rest! Products I will absolutely be picking up or restocking are:
Urban Decay All Nighter (my holy grail setting spray)
Clinique Chubby Color Lip Balm Set (how cute are these to toss in your bag and go?!)
Becca Rose Glow Kit (the price on this is crazy good)
Anastasia Brow Kit (running low on my current brow pencil and gel)
And then I’m torn between the NARS glosses and satin lip pencils… Both are typically some of my favorite formulas from NARS, so I don’t think I could go wrong either way!

Alright, loves, those are all of my top beauty picks!
I’d love to hear below, will you be shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? What are you most looking forward to picking up?
