Ok, so I may have gone overboard with the polishes this past month. I feel like having well-manicured nails really does boost my confidence and helps me feel more pulled-together. I’m especially feelin’ the glitter topcoats to add another dimension to cream/metallic polishes that I’ve been wearing for a couple days that have begun to chip. It saves me the hassle of starting from scratch so I only have to do the full routine once every 6-7 days. Perhaps I will show a few fun color combos in the coming weeks!
The boyfriend and I recently took a little overnight trip to Beverly Hills for relaxation and, as usual, some exploration. We stayed at The Crescent, an adorable yet luxurious boutique hotel just blocks away from Rodeo Drive. We were greeted with complimentary glasses of red wine and settled right into our cozy room. I especially took notice of the pendant chandeliers and hound’s-tooth fabric wall treatment.
After about 2 hours of painful (not really) discussion, we decided on Thomas Keller’s Bouchon for dinner. Although I do have something negative to say about their service, the food was truly the star of the evening. Chicken liver mousse with crostini, followed by a huge pot of mussels from Maine, steamed in white wine, Dijon and saffron, served with a side of French fries. Amazeballs. We were feeling pretty full after this amazing meal, so we took dessert to go…
A tasty selection of macarons amongst my jewelry selections for the evening.
Date nights have become one of the occasions that I most look forward to getting gussied up for. I definitely wouldn’t say that I feel the need to impress my boyfriend when we go out, but I love to see the look on his face when I put in a little extra effort. I’ve been especially adoring midi skirts as of late, and felt this heavier weight garnet version from Asos was perfect for a dinner and a movie night. I paired it with Dolce Vita ankle-strap flats, a simple black scoop neck top and some gold and gemstone necklaces.
